I sometimes wish conservative arguments were not so easy to shoot holes in
It's getting kind of boring. Sure would be nice to at least get a LITTLE challenge from them, other than the sheer strength of will, wrong, factually challenged obstinacy.

A friend-of-a-friend on facebook started going off on how socialism=fascism, etc. you know the drill. I explained that he was confusing quantity with quality, essentially saying that any form of government is bad, then explained why he was wrong. He then trotted out some BS conspiracy "non party" crap from a conservative writer (Gary Allen) who is a former Bircher and Wallace speech writer. Of course, I had to point out to him the author's past history since he was not aware of any of that.

Just once I'd like an actual intelligent argument from these folks. Then again, I suppose I am asking too much, since it's hard to put forth a cogent argument when you are spouting conservative anti-government nonsense and using garbage for a source.

1. Then the media wouldn't have to keep conservatives in a bubble.
Perhaps today's conservatives wouldn't be so goddamned weak and panicky.

by who they listen to, believe, and elect that they are not interested in facts at all. So the real challenge isn't shooting holes in their arguments, it's getting through their thick skulls. :eyes:

I've had better luck teaching card tricks to my dogs, if I can paraphrase Bill Hicks.
