Hey, there's somebody who lives in San Diego and posts on DU
I live in Temecula, Ca. Maybe we should get local DUers together sometime.

8. No - *I* used to live in Chino Hills!
In aptly-named Carbon Canyon...in 1990-92.

Where were you?

6. Sounds great. My hubby and I both love DU & Old Town.
And we are the only Democrats in Temecula. I love to meet SoCal DUers. I'll have to post my e-mail on my profile -- or allow it to be seen or whatever. Give me a bit.

The North County Kerry folks meet fairly regularly for margaritas and beans in San Marcos. Here's a recent mailing from the campaign with useful contact info. (Please note the extraordinary work done by the Clark and Dean people).

FROM: DEL STEWART
SUBJECT: CAMPAIGN UPDATE

Kerristas!

I wanted to give you all a short report on the state of the Kerry Campaign in San Diego County. We have a number of special challenges that confront us at this point -- almost all of them good.

We are growing! The interest in the Kerry Campaign is growing so much that meetup has just added a forth venue to San Diego County. Previous volunteers for the Dean, Edwards and Clark campaigns have arrived at our doorstep, clipboards in hand, ready to work to defeat that guy, and you know who I mean. Special Thanks to the coorperation and hard work of Joan Little of the Clark Campaign, and Ira Lechner of the Dean campaign (who, since coming on board, have raised over $80,000 for JK--no that's not a typo.)

Organization is paramount. Many of you are wondering what you can do, and there is still a need for leadership positions to fill in the campaigns. It is essential that this campaign be organized in such a way that no one be requried to spend more than four or five hours a week at it. It's a long way to November and almost eveyone involved in the campaign has a day job to attend to. We have a huge pool of talent available to us and we don't want to burn it out; instead we want to keep it sharp, effective, and ready to mobilize when we need it. Once the leadership is solidly in place, we will be creating committees within the district campaigns for specific efforts. We need you! Please make sure that one of the three District Field Coordinators, Kit Stowell (Southbay) cstowell@prodigy.net, Steve Rivera (Central) attriv@yahoo.com, or Rene Cortes (North County) renecortes@att.net knows that you are ready and willing to serve.
