You know the point in a fast where you start dreaming of food?
I'm SO there.

Been on liquids only most of the week- I finally went to the doctor today to see why I was still so sick after a week. After a 6 hour wait I talked to her for all of three minutes to discover I had a mild strain of flu that wasn't covered under the two inoculations I had two months ago. More bed rest and stay off solid food for two more days, she told me. Funny- until she said that I wasn't the least bit hungry... Thanks, doc...

Mmmmmmmm, pepperoni and ham and sausage and mushroom pizza.....

Mama.......

1. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six...
Aw, sweetie, I am so sorry to hear about your troubles...

I've never really had to fast, per se.

Your time to eat solid foods is coming, really it is!

Hang in there...

2. I tried, but never made it to that point in a fast.
Meaning: After a max of about six hours it was over. I have no willpower. I am a weakling.

3. It helps if you're too sick to eat.
I have a pound or twenty extra on board that wouldn't be missed in any case...

5. I know what you mean.
I'm on medication for my RA, which took away my appetite for a while, and I lost close to twenty pounds. And now: It's BACK. The appetite, that is. Arrrgh. I think I could do the fasting if I were at a spa, being supervised, a little bit pampered and in supportive, calm surroundings. But in this madhouse which calls itself everyday life? Can't do it. No way, no how.

7. Just recapping to verify I haven't missed any salient points:
1) Six days into a fast.
2) Not feeling well.
3) Dreaming of food.
4) Diagnosis: Flu.
