2. Never saw 'em.
...but I had a friend who had three laundry baskets full of cassettes of live dead shows. He swore by 'em. I gotta confess I didn't get it.

3. saw Ratdog at the Florida Theatre in Jax a year or two ago and the sound system sucked
the bass overload was making people feel ill and hundreds stood outside the building or completely left early

5. I've never been much of a Deadhead...
.
... and the only time I've ever seen them was at the indoor bicycle track at the
Munich Olympic Stadium... somewhere around 1974.
.
I did the wrong drugs (red wine and hash) and fell asleep one or two songs into
the show.
.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
.
Right before the show, I went out to the concourse where all the concessions
were sold for a bratwurst-on-kaiser-roll sandwich.
.
I was the only person out there except for this wild-haired American guy who had
THREE sandwiches lined up on his forearm. He squirted mustard on them, put the
bun tops back on, looked into my eyes and crowed, "THESE THINGS ARE GREAT!!!!",
and walked off down the hall. balancing that menage-a-trois on his forearm.
.
.
I didn't realize who I had been with until I saw (for the second and last time in
my life) Jerry Garcia up onstage.
.
Sometimes I think "Forrest Gump" was written about me.
.
.
People who are otherwise peaceful, pacifistic, sweetheart Deadheads sometimes wanna kick
my ass when I tell that story.
.
Just kidding.
.
Although more often than not, they do refuse to hope that I have a nice day.
.

6. Performers are usually much better when they are alive.
For instance, I wouldn't go see Buddy Holly in concert now. He's been decomposing for years.

7. I only saw them 27 times
During that period of my life...but had friends who had seen them 100's of times. So, I'd go to a show with them, neophyte that I was, and on the ride home, would be thinking "Wow, that was great!" and they'd be saying "That SUCKED!".

One show, they were playing "Must Have Been the Roses"...really slow, I guess Garcia was pretty strung out that night...after it ended some guy sitting nearby said "It MUST have been the roses, it had to be something!"

Never did get to see them play Dark Star.

8. That'd have to be the Zombies. Of course that'd also be the best dead performance.
Unless there's a vampire band out there I don't know about. In any case, haven't seen 'em if there is.

9. For some reason, vampires really love mariachi music.
No, it's true. Robert Acevedo says so.
