Could happen.

In December when we had snow I was sick with flu.

1. Gotcha back!
It never snows here in SE Virginia, unless it does a lot. It's true, we got about 8 inches so far.

3. The funny thing is I have to get the mower out and cut the weeds in the yard,
All the cold weather has killed the grass but not the weeds.

The yard is full of weeds.

4. All that fun driving.
Up and down steep hills.

This has been a winter.

10. It's not so bad, as long as you stay off the roads.

5. Possibility here in SA, too!
Frankly, I'm hoping it misses us! I think I'm all "wintered" out!

6. The mockingbirds were here yesteday singing, nice to hear.
I haven't seen the mockingbirds for awhile.

The other birds have not returned to the feeder yet.

I did see a one little wild flower at the bayou, the little white one.

7. Yesterday was a really pretty day!
We have a cardinal couple that frequent our backyard. I saw them yesterday morning.

The winter was exceptionally brutal over here. I realize that in the grand scheme of things, a mere sixteen degrees isn't all that much, but for us around here - it is highly unusual! Plants that have survived the winters for years were killed this year.
It's going to take a lot of work this spring to get the yard back into shape!

8. Some of our plants died.
The big norfork pines suffered a little, I think they will recover over the summer.

The only plants that made it were coverd by frost covers and blankets.

The yard looks sad right now.

13. I rode my bike in shorts and Tevas yesterday.
Later that night I ran out to my car dressed the same to get something, and nearly froze. Freaking Texas weather.

12. I agree!!!
My guess is that it will be felt mostly in the outer parts adjoining the hill country, but who knows. The drive home tomorrow should prove interesting, to say the least.

15. You'll be passing it on to us in NH. One storm here tomorrow but not
a big one, then on Wednesday to Thursday another one...yours, I think. But...another week or so and we'll have broken the back of winter. :-)

16. Yes the occasional white fall in Houston is definitely the upside to global climate change
When I was a kid there were usually several days in January when it was warm enough that we could go swimming in the neighbor's swimming pool. It's not like that any more.

17. Not this winter.
I had to buy extra sweatpants.

I had 3 pair, not enough this year.

The few cold fronts with warm weather in between was not this winter.

The poor plants really suffered.
