1. I have wanted to visit there for a long time
Is "interesting" a good thing or a bad thing?

2. Both.
It wasn't an easy vacation. The people were wonderful. But it definitely is a third world country. Dirt poor. Castro turned a country with rich and poor people into a country of poor people.

3. Details, please!
I'm very curious about Cuba, especially the Cuban people. Are they friendly? How high is the poverty rate? Do they like living there?, etc.. etc., etc.

4. We went with a friend who's Cuban.
His family was great. The people are super friendly. I don't know if they like living there. They get paid just enough to live. Castro hasn't spent a dime to keep the place up, so buildings are crumbling. They're just starting to fix up Havana. The whole place is falling apart. it's pretty sad.

9. It's a dump.
I think they'd agree if they went there.
