** Official Yankees V. Canucks Olympic Hockey Thread **
This is shaping up to be an intense game. Canada just scores to tie it up and 20 seconds later, the US scores again to retake a 2-1 lead with 9 and a half minutes left in the first period.

10. Jeez, don't ruin the Canucks for me like that.
They're one of the 3 teams from the West that I think have a great chance to win it all (Chicago and San Jose are the others). Comparing them to the Yankees is like saying they're the Montreal Canadiens...blecccch. :)

When did NBC's fracked-up coverage show it?

12. USA won 5-3.
Canada now has to get past Germany and Russia just to get to the finals.

OLE OLE OLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Dear Canada - Have fun with Germany and Russia

Russia could send Canada home without a medal. Unthinkable a week ago.

15. That was a fantastic game. Too bad it wasn't on an HD channel.
WTF was NBC thinking? And then WAY after the game was over they broke in on the regular NBC channel to announce that we had "just" beaten the Canadian team.

They're gonna get another email from me today.

16. Not only that, the Russia-Czech game was tape-delayed on the West Coast
odd, considering Vancouver is on the West Coast. :eyes: Thus, the two games overlapped, though not by all that much, considering the 45 minutes of pre-game hype before the USA-Canada game.

18. Are you serious??? WTF?
NBC looks more stupid by the minute. That Russia-Czech game was great, especially the last period. I'd have been pissed off if I'd had to miss that because they overlapped.

19. That was wildly stupid of them. If I hadn't had a hunch that NBC was going to
screw up (a hunch based on long Olympic experience) I would have blithely kept watching the Russia game and missed a chunk of the U.S.-Canada one. I'm glad they're using the cable channel to show full curling and hockey games, so that's one point in their favor, but overall they're abysmal.

17. USA played that game-
Brought it within the first minute!! I heard them say afterward that that first goal quieted that hostile crowd down, lol. :patriot:

I'm not taking anything away from Canada, they're a kick ass team and it was a pleasure watching them fight it out with our team but we played.that.game!
