1. Too funny, the coincidence!
I gotta laugh.
I just finished posting to another thread in DU Lounge entitled "Where were you born?" I said Schenectady, NY and added "but I always have trouble spelling it since I moved away before I learned how to spell."   Cruising DU Lounge for just one more item of interest before quitting DU for the day, I spotted this thread: SCHENECTADY.    HA!!! a place I haven't thought of in ages, suddenly comes up twice in the same hour.

Then, not knowing if I should even vote in the poll because I haven't been there since age 3 (and therefore have no memories of it), I spotted the choice about GE.   My father was a GE man so we were a family transferred from GE town to GE town.   Since I was born in Schenectady because of GE, I suddenly see a new meaning in the slogan that GE "brings good things to life"!!! - I've never thought of that before!

Suddenly MY LIFE HAS NEW MEANING!    :applause:

7. Drove through the place once.
I didn't really give a thought. I had lunch at some Ma & Pa place on the main drag, but don't remember if the food was good or not. Seemed like a normal town. Nice enough, I suppose..

SKIN ~NECK ~TODAY .. which of course is an old, old joke.. considering that the place used to be a fort in the old settler days, back around the time of the French and Indian war. When I was there I got the whole historical background of the place, including, a glass bottle museum and a spot where you can still find stone arrowheads .. who'da thought it?
