Need some advise concerning the auto train

I am planning on taking my children from WV to Florida this summer (disney world). I was looking into flights but have been thinking about the auto train. It would give them/me a chance to see some of the country alittle bit more, and the added benefit of having our car once we get there. But beyond that, I know very little about it. Has anyone used it or knows anything that could be of any help?
