My husband says I buy too much bread!
Edited on Tue Feb-16-10 06:54 PM by tigereye
I tell him, it's really cold out and I'm Irish. We seem to need to have a lot of bread around, genetic remembrance of famine and all that.

;) Plus the teen eats us out of house and home.

What food/foods do you and yours have to have in winter?

1. I love bread..
Edited on Tue Feb-16-10 07:00 PM by AsahinaKimi
Especially fresh baked, or bagels.. muffins, Corn Muffins! I have been told I have to stop eating so much, because its very fattening. Meh! So much stuff in the world we are told we can't eat because of this..or that!

Its simply not fair.. :P

Lately I have been eating alot of Sashimi. No rice.. at least fish is good for you..unless, of course you think about the mercury~ *cries*

12. I love Sashimi
Edited on Tue Feb-16-10 07:37 PM by AsahinaKimi
One time I went to this place, and got 3 orders of thirty pieces. I brought it home, and lived on it for a week! I had to put them in three plastic containers. They gave me lots of sliced ginger and Wasabi. I also have my own low salt Soy Sauce.

So any time I got hungry, I could have my own Sashimi dish. Unfortunately, I had to fight the cat to eat it! wahahahahaha!

3. We're Irish, and we're pretty big on bread here, too.
Orange juice is also popular. :hi: How are you doing, tigereye? I was in the city today, taking my daughter for a school exam. The streets are still pretty messy, I noticed. I am really tired of winter. x(

4. at least you could actually see the pavement there today as I drove my son
back from school... it's been 10 days since that was true.

What exam? Mine had an Independent school entrance exam this past week. Crazy - worse than college applications when I was young.

:hi: You can't have too much bread.

:D Chocolate is a must in winter. And you are right that potatoes in all forms are very good as well.

I am willing to bet there is some kind of combo out there, though.

Winter vegetables are far better in a thick soup than bread alone. If in doubt: pottage!

26. it would be cheaper
If you had a breadmaker or made it by hand :D Not saying you HAVE to by any means. But if you ever wanna give it a try, it's a lot of fun.

We have WAY too much milk and cereal. My husband must have cereal and coffee every morning, and we have a 14 month old, so we go through milk like it's going out of style. We also buy two boxes of cereal each at the store. We shop at Aldi though, so the boxes are smaller.

scones and biscotti, but not all the time.

I have a teenager and he is eating me out of house and home. The milk just flies out the door.
