If we HAVE to have figure skating, make the judging more equitable...

One of the obvious problems is the skaters all perform to different songs. Have 'em perform to the same song...

and to see just how GOOD they can skate, have them perform to Iron Maiden songs, like this one:

1. I have thought the same thing but...

I think people would lose all interest the 12th time they saw someone skate to The Way We Were. So the 12th couple's marks would suffer.. I like that skaters can have their personalities show through. They all have certain movements and jumps that are required, it's the way they put it all together that makes the difference. And the music is part of that. I know the judging doesn't make a ton of sense to me but the skaters have all been doing this their whole lives so they certainly know.

2. I think the Ice Dancing short program is like that

(not the Iron Maiden part), but each pair does exactly the same program to the same music. After the first few routines, it gets really boring.
