My shoes squeak
Hardwood floors at the office, and hardwood floors here at home. My shoes squeak. They don't squeak anywhere else but on wooden floors. Why?

Why, god, why?!!

2. It's odd.
I'll just be known as the one with squeaky shoes, as well as the one with crazy hair.

3. i had these comfy shoes that were kind of cloggish that would make farty sounds
when i walked, sadly i gave them up for public wearing.

something about the design would suck air into the shoe and it would make the sound and it was far worse if i didn't have socks on.

so count yourself lucky with a squeak

4. Are the soles leather or rubber?
I think rubber tends to squeak on lots of hard surfaces. If I were lucky enough to have hardwood floors, I think I'd make my left sole a sander and my right a buffer.

Killing two birds and all that...

7. I returned a pair of shoes last year for squeaking.
They were hundred dollar shoes - not an amount I normally would spend on shoes, but I've been having foot problems and went for the dansko clogs that are supposed to be good for foot problems. They were the dressiest things I could come up with that I could wear with black pants without crying out from foot pain for an upcoming music solo thing I had to perform - in a big fancy church with amazing acoustics.

Day 1, they were fine.

Day 2, a slight squeak.

By the 5th or 6th time I wore them they were screaming my presence as I went down the halls. Actually just one - the left one. I had to return them because I couldn't imagine walking across the chapel to the mike with the SquuuEAAAKAKKAKAKKAK step SqueeaAAAAAAAAAAAK step echoing through the chapel while everyone waited.

They exchanged them for another identical - but quiet pair. Turned out there was a series of complaints - they had a bad manufacturing run. If your shoes are new (and expensive) it's worth calling the manufacturer.

If not ... well, maybe you can glue those things on the bottom that people use to move furniture, and glide across rooms.
