A cat ran over my face this morning...
Edited on Tue Feb-16-10 12:36 PM by chromotone
About 4am, one of my three cats ran over my face. I was sleeping soundly when all of a sudden there was this scamper, scamper...owwww! moment.

I have three cats and suspect one was being chased by one of the other two. In order to flee, she/he jumped onto my bed then proceeded to escape to the other side. My head just happened to be in the path.

It was dark and I didn't see which one it was, but it sure woke me up!

edited for typo

1. Ah yes. I have a few "tire marks" from my cats running over me...
I sleep with the comforter pulled over my head for a reason...;)

2. I have similar experiences
One of my lovely four cats has a habit of playing with mice he will occasionally find around the apartment on my face. Literally, he keeps them alive and finds it fun to play with them on my face while I am sleeping. He also sits on my head when he is hungry. He is strange enough to have dedicated my user-name to him. Ahh, dear Fred. . .

6. what were mice doing on your face?
Welcome to DU - I love this sentence:

"playing with mice he will occasionally find around the apartment on my face"

That is so typical Pennsylvania Dutch way of saying things.

8. Hmm
Thanks, I think. :) I seriously hope that mice aren't crawling on me while I sleep. It certainly is a possibility, however. Thanks for the welcome.

3. Didn't you know you're just a paw mat, scratching post and food machine?

7. Yeah, just one of their "staff"
It's strange; they have such different personalities.

When I feed them, one does the usual schtick: rubbing my legs, meowing, stretching up to see what's on the counter. Another one just sits in the corner of the kitchen and stares; doesn't meow or rub, just sits and stares.

But she will do a "jump-nudge." That's when I'll bend over as if to pet her and only go halfway. She then will stand on her hind legs so that her head will brush my hand, then its back down on all fours.

They definitely have personalities...

9. They are interesting creatures for sure. I have 2 dogs that sleep on my bed
and 2 cats who sleep wherever. They have a schedule. The old cat (23) arrives on my chest at 4:30 am expecting some attention. The younger one (1 1/2) arrives at 6 and just settles in with the dogs. Happens every morning.

12. You know, they must be good at that.
Haven't seen a fire-breathing dragon the whole time they've been in the house.
