1. Great song and album.

If you've ever heard "Live In Dublin," he does an eight-minute honky-tonk version of "Open All Night."

5. Great version, though I love the story he used to tell before this song in the mid 80s
About The Jersey Turnpike and getting a ticket on it.

3. Great tune
I saw her standin on her front lawn just twirlin her baton
Me and her went for a ride sir and ten innocent people died

From the town of lincoln nebraska with a sawed-off .410 on my lap
Through to the badlands of wyoming I killed everything in my path

I can't say that Im sorry for the things that we done
At least for a little while sir me and her we had us some fun

The jury brought in a guilty verdict and the judge he sentenced me to death
Midnight in a prison storeroom with leather straps across my chest

Sheriff when the man pulls that switch sir and snaps my poor neck back
You make sure my pretty baby is sittin right there on my lap

They declared me unfit to live said into that great void my sould
Be hurled
They wanted to know why I did what I did
Well sir I guess there's just a meanness in this world

4. I was recommending Badlands to someone yesterday...
both Malick and Springsteen took sordid reality
and turned it into stark beautiful myth

6. yeah, it's a great movie
The first time I saw it was on TV, one of those afternoon movies on a local independent station where they break for advertisements about every seven minutes. I clicked in on it somewhere in the middle of the movie, so not only did I have to sit through commercials every few minutes, but I also didn't really know what was going on. And it was still compelling--it is (like the landscape it moves through) quite stark and beautiful, in pretty much every element of the production.
