15. Now you're telling me
You're not nostalgic

Then give me another word for it

You who are so good with words

And at keeping things vague

peace & love to you & your loved ones~

5. Joe Ely~All Just to Get To You
http://www.youtube.com/v/uFTkxhaSVkc&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b

I have stumbled on the plains
Staggered in the wind
Stood at a crossroad or two
Cried to a river
Swept to the sea
All just to get to you

I have flagged a yellow cab
Hopped a rusty freight
Sang till my lips turned blue
Flown a silver bird
On the tops of the clouds
All just to get to you

I ran too hard
I played too Rough
I gave my Love
Not near Enough
I bled too red
I cried too blue
I beat my fist
Against the moon
All just to get to you

I have run from St. Paul
To Wichita Falls
Call'd you from sunny Baton Rouge
Hocked everything
From my watch to my ring
All just to get to you

I ran too hard
I played too Rough
I gave you Love
Not near Enough
I bled too red
I cried too blue
I beat my fist
Against the moon
All just to get to you

From the California Shore
Where the mighty ocean roars
To the lands of the Hopi and the Sioux
I walked the desert sands
Crossed the Rio Grande
All just to get to you

I have stumbled on the plains
Staggered in the wind
Stood at a crossroad or two
Cried to a river
Swept to the sea
All just to get to you

9. Wow...
Tuesday Afternoon:hug:
I loved it...thanks for the lyrics and scenery, also.
I just relived....

Also, that was the first YouTube ever to come up full screen...which was kind of eerie...
I still think that you know every song in the world! :D

This is so cool...I ask for music...and I get it!
Thank you!

peace~

And....Love you, too.
There are some things that never change with time....things change...time keeps what we know.

the greatest use of the Bo Diddley Beat since.....Bo Diddley

and yes of course there's a name to drop here: I drove from Albuquerque to Chicago with James Jamerson Jr. several years ago ( Am I just repeating all these by now?) ( edited to spell "yes" correctly--those three letter words are just too tricky)

Stitches come out tomorrow!

19. Sweet. Love that beat!
Thorogood's version of Who Do you Love is one of the few songs I sing lead on, and I think it's in part 'cause of the beat. Of course it's also probably 'cause my voice sounds like a broken cement mixer.

We'd discussed Jamerson before, but you never mentioned about the cross-country trip. So you can cite that story a time or two more. :)

Glad to hear about the stiches. Now blow man, blow!

22. Maybe, maybe not; I'm actually a better singer and harp player
Edited on Thu Feb-11-10 01:41 AM by abq e streeter
than sax (and flute), but have been working hard to bring the sax skills up a notch or two. Like I think I've also said before, I'm not all that great a musician ( it's a fluke that I've played with people as good as I have) , but I'm pretty versatile, and until the past year and a half, that was enough to keep me working at least most weekends.

23. I hear you on that.
Technically, I'm so-so. But, I can keep time like nobody's business, I know how to get in the pocket with the drummer, and I never step on anybody's toes.

Plus I own a couple of good running vehicles and a watch. Credentials like that'll keep any bassplayer busy! :)

Edited on Thu Feb-11-10 01:56 AM by abq e streeter
get in the pocket, stay there and lay down that groove. Don't need all that fancy shit; just gets in the way . (Oops, I think I'm hijacking dystopian's thread-----time to pack it in for the night)
