Calling all worm owners! I need help. I just watered one of my.....
plants and out came about four live worms. I have a worm farm, and when I watered it with my "worm water" it must have had worm eggs in it.

I did not put the worms back in my plant.

My question: Would it be good for the plants (and other houseplants) to have a worm or two in them? I'm afraid they will eat the roots.

I know aerating (sp) the soil is wonderful for outdoors but I'm not sure it is even necessary in a container. And my fear of them "root eating" outweighs every other argument - in my mind at least.

Opinions, please??

1. i'm not sure but i don't think
they'll eat the roots.
i use compost in my garden and of course it has lots of worms -- i try to keep them all in the compost pile but some get in my plants.
i've never noticed that they hurt anything.

2. The only problem with worms in the pot,
it seems to me, is that they when they aerate the roots can loose contact with the soil. ??????

6. Keep the worms
Worm castings are great for the soil. They won't hurt the roots.
