Another national magazine has taken a tire-iron to our ego, busting on Philadelphia for its perceived shortcomings.

This time, though, we've piled on by dissing ourselves.

In an Internet survey of 500,000 people by Travel + Leisure magazine, along with AOL Travel, Philly ranked as the city with the least attractive, least stylish, and some of the least friendly people out of a group of 25 cities.

That's bad enough. But, according to the survey, many locals agreed with the out-of-towners, flagellating themselves as colossally unpretty, significantly lacking in style, and fairly hard to get along with.

"Are you kidding?" asks a disbelieving Mindy Sills, a fashion expert with John Robert Powers Modeling, Finishing School & Agency. "Really, we rated last in style and looks? How dare they say such mean things?"

The results suggest that the town needs to be Queer-Eyed for an emergency fashion makeover, then maybe head-shrunk to bolster its woefully lacking civic self-esteem.

It was my first year of grad school.

I had three lab mates... one from NYC, one from Philly, and one from Mainland China (his first time out of his country).

They were discussing violent crime in America... the chinese guy seemed to think all Americans carried guns.
