Favorite video game ending?

Golden Axe II. When you defeat Death Adder, The dwarf from the first game - who is now a paraplegic riding on the barbarian's back - jumps up, flies across the room, and splits his head open with an axe. Awesome! :D

1. I thought Final Fantasy VII had an awesome ending

And so do a lot of other big-time RPGs. As for regular arcade-style games, I can't say I've "beaten" enough of them to know. I don't do fighting games or shooters with gun attachments very often. I'm mostly an old school arcade fanatic who loves the great endless contests of skill from the 80's.

3. Baldur's Gate 2 for PC

That had the best ending of any RPG I've ever seen.

I'm mostly an RPG'er myself, but Golden Axe was always my favorite arcade because it had a lot of the RPG-style elements.

Also, Blade Runner for the PC has some really nice endings... depends on how you play.

4. Most Final Fantasy games...

and RPGs have great storylines and usually can be trusted with strong endings.
