Do you like to explore your own area or would you rather go over the horizon?

I have always lived in Florida. I know it well, and yet there is so much I'm missing out on. I tend to go out west or overseas when I get the time or money.

But I have the feeling I'm overlooking some important things about my home state.

I hope to take a trip to the Everglades in the coming weeks and have begun to research where I might go. The more I check into, the more I want to see. I know I won't have enough time but I'll squeeze in a nice trip.

Is this common with people? Would you all rather go far away and experience something way different? Or do more day trips and overnighters close by to where you live?

Just curious.

I think most people don't see where they live as a tourist area...

What I've heard, and it's been true for me, is that you have to move away from someplace before you want to see the tourist sights...

And then you do that, when you return for a visit!
