Good morning Lounge
Edited on Fri Feb-05-10 05:07 AM by MissHoneychurch
How are you today?

So today started out crazy. The public transportation is mainly on strike. Means it took me a bit longer to get to work. Fortunately some busses and some trains are running.
Got to work just to hear that someone broke in last night. Offices have been searched and stuff been pulled out. Fortunately the thieves were only searching for money because valuable autographs and old books were not taken. They didn't come to the library though. "Just" the administration and other departments. As said, the valuable things we own here at the museum were not stolen.

This evening I go to the Boticelli exhibition with people from the International meet-up. Going to have a tour through the exhibition and then sit together for a drink. http://www.staedelmuseum.de/sm/index.php?StoryID=1&websiteLang=en

Tomorrow I have to work and after work I will go dancing with two friends. Sunday I will sleep.

One more week and I am on vacation for a week. :woohoo:

1. Good Morning Miss Honeychurch! TGIF :)
:hi:  :loveya: :pals:

Glad that nothing valuable was taken. :)

We're all bracing for the snow, it's due to start this afternoon and go on all night. 12-18". Yikes. Whoever is hiding Springtime, please share with the rest of us.

Have a great time dancing and at the Boticelli exhibit! :bounce:

:hi:  :loveya:

We are glad about that too. As bad as it is that someone broke in (and they took quite some money appearantly) we are glad our most valued collection weren't involved.

Ugh .... that sounds bad. I hope nothing too much happens and you have a rather good day

2. Good morning MissH!
Sorry to hear about the break-in, but glad to hear that the left the books/autographs behind. How sad for someone to be so desperate.

It sounds like you've got quite a busy weekend planned. Resting on Sunday is probably necessary.

Ahhhh . . . the Botticelli exhibit should be FABULOUS!

I'm going to dinner after work and then going to listen to a string quartet.

The rest of the weekend in unplanned, other than the usual.

:hi: :loveya:

5. Here's a partial
description: is distinguished by its open-mindedness and versatility, displaying equal facility in the classical repertoire and contemporary music. In addition, the quartet performs jazz concerts in renowned jazz venues to complement its other activities.

They also did the arrangement (score) for Pulp Fiction.

I'm really looking forward to the concert. Am curious about mixing classical with jazz. Should be interesting.

We're going to a Scandinavian restaurant before the concert, but I'm not quite sure what will be on the menu. Well, besides lingonberries of course.

of Rock the Ballet. I just looked it up and saw a small clip. Oh, that certainly will be a good concert.

I think you are right about the fish and Köttbullar. I'll let you know. ;) Maybe I'll take a picture!

Gotta head out for work now, so wishing you a great rest of the day, a marvelous weekend, and a peaceful and restful vacation.

Well, we do have the income from the museum entries. Someone from "CSI Frankfurt" was here, saying it looks like the thives knew what they were looking for.

They strike for more money.

15. I just met the police when I came to work
but I admit I wasn't at the crime scene. No need for me to go there and goggle. Won't help anyone.

Do they show "Tatort" in the U.S.?

17. When I lived in D.C., there was an international public station that showed it
subtitled, of course...These were the ones with Max Ballauf and Freddy Schenk in Koln -- Great show...So very different from all the cop shows we have here...

Those were some fun Sunday nights (especially since I didn't have cable)...I would watch Tatort, Martin Beck from Sweden, and Inspector Montalbano from Italy...All of them were impressive shows.

Ballauf and Schenk are some of my favorite Tatort detectives. I also like the Tatort from Münster with Jan Josef Liefers as Prof. Börne. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJ47c3ZnTMk

The library wasn't affected. Other departments were. Seems like the thieves know where to search. Beside quite some money they took laptops from one department.

I wish you a good weekend too. Well let me put it another way. I wish you a good time at work with not too much problems.

26. G'day, MissH!
:hi:

I'm sorry to hear. :( I'm glad that nothing of historical value was damaged.

We have the Da Vinci exhibit on display here at the High Museum. I haven't seen it, I have too much to do on the weekends.

I guess you don't have to worry about swimming during the transit strike. :P

Oh .... you better go and see that DaVinci exhibit. I love DaVinci. He did so much different stuff.

The strike is only today. It is "just" a strike for warning. Annyoing enough as it is.

Hopefully next week I can find a new soccer team.

Yes, it is in unnerving. Esp. when one hears that it seems to be planned and when one thinks about all the valuable books and autographs that were avaiable to them (thank goodness they didn't take that with them).

How are you doing?
