2. What's weird is that when I was a kid in the 70s, the 1960s seemed ages ago.
But today our social dialog is still frame referenced by the 1960s. We have a hard core group of Beatles fans at the school I teach at--some of these are kids whose parents were born after the Beatles broke up. I can't think of any generation of Americans who had a longer lasting impact on how their descendants saw their world.

That's the year I met my wife. We've been living together for almost 20 years, married 18. Man, that seems like a long time now.

6. Well that just ruined my day
 Let's just say 1990 was when I completed my master's degree. One of my favorite famous guys (see sig) says that he's always surprised when he looks in the mirror and sees some old guy looking back at him. I feel the same way. ;)

I remember 1990 like it was a few years ago. ;) "If I knew then what I know now... I'm certain I would have made different mistakes." -Garthism, '95.

That's because 2001-2008 was such a bloody nightmare, my brain blacked out those years. It's like having repressed memories.

23. Scary, shows how old I'm getting!
Plus the fact that from a British political point of view, 1990 is the year that Maggie was kicked out - and it's a shock to realize that 20 years on so LITTLE has been done to reverse the harm that she did.
