First day unemployed - slept in
Why am I not freaking out?

1. I'm not in the States.
2. I'm in IT, and this is hiring season. My job search aggregator sends me 25-40 jobs daily, and there are at least 7-8 in each batch for which I qualify.
3. I'm the top contender for one extremely cool job for which I interviewed a couple of weeks ago.
4. I personally know the hiring manager for one company who would be a near-perfect fit.
5. I uncharacteristically am parked on 2 months' worth of $$. I don't think I've ever been in this position.
6. My boss at the place where my contract just ended will write me a sterling rec.
7. Not necessarily in that order, except maybe for that first item.

2. A couple of weeks, looks like
The one place where I interviewed is supposed to get back to me with an offer by the end of the week, which probably means early next.

In the meantime, I'm trying to line up more interviews, applying to a few more posts to hedge my bet, and making some phone calls.

I have a long list of other stuff I finally have time to do (like get my passport), so it's not like I'm totally slacking off. :D

:hi:
