Best Slasher Flick.
My thoughts run to:

My Bloody Valentine (Original)
Silent Night, Deadly Night
Friday the 13th: 1-3, 6.
Sleepaway Camp
The Hitcher (Original)
Halloween 1 and 2
Prom Night
Scream 1
Maniac Cop

2. Specifically Slasher
Not Cannibals, Zombies, Vampires - but specifically slasher:

- Friday the 13th
- Halloween
- Henry Potrait of a Serial Killer
- Maniac
- Sleepaway Camp (sorry, that one just wins on sheer originality)

5. Psycho is still the best, but the most visceral is Lucio Fulci's The New York Ripper.
Not for anyone but true horror aficionados, and even most of them will be offended.

8. Dubbed.
There might be a subtitled version out there by now, but I only saw the dubbed version years ago.

14. DVDs are great for finally getting subbed versions.
I've seen so many badly dubbed Italian horror movies on VHS.

7. Halloween. I didn't like Halloween II, though.
Halloween 2 is meh, actually.

In fact, Halloween 4 is better.

Halloween
Halloween 4
Halloween 6
Halloween 5
Halloween II
Halloween H20
Halloween: Resurrection

And Rob Zombie's Halloween and its sequel in a whole new world of bad.

9. Does Fraility count?
Bill Paxton turns into a serial killer when he hears God telling him to rid the Earth of demons

15. Is that the one that takes place in WV?
My husband uses it as an excuse (with tongue not entirely in cheek) for why he doesn't want to go visit my family there: because the inbred mutants will get him.

20. Yes!
I usually do not enjoy these flicks, but I saw this a week ago and got hooked.

It was on again last night and I got to see it in its entirety. I was mesmerized.

I had to call my boss, cause I've been talking about it alot....his wife answered and I had to tell her why I was calling....to let him know the WV inbred cannibal flick was on AMC in a few minutes. :-)

They all, and I do mean ALL, fell into formulaic shit afterwards.

16. It seems to me that the first
film of any franchise is usually good for some shocks'n'shudders. But as soon as a good idea falls victim to sequel-itis, meh, not so much.

18. The original Black Christmas
Predated Halloween. Directed by Bob Clark ("A Christmas Story").

And the scariest damn movie you'll ever see.

That little Chuckie is a bad ass motherfucking doll.

I also like Psycho - the original, Hitchcock version.

21. Being named the best slasher pic is akin to being named the best Fox News primetime host.
That being said, I guess I'll say the original Halloween (not the Rob Zombie remakes). Or Scream, which didn't take itself too seriously.
