1. Robin came to my hotel in Tampa in 1974 or 5.
I was a bellboy on the phone with one of my friends. A huge Trower fan who could play all his songs flawlessly on his own guitar. I said, "Robin Trower just got out of a limo." And the guy freaked out. So did I. I said, "He's coming this way, I need to get off the phone."

I then helped Robin and his manager with their bags.

As we got in the elevator, I asked Robin if I could take his guitar for him.

"YES", he said.

And I stood there, dumbfounded, to be holding Robin Trower's stratocaster.

Then he told his manager to take it to be restrung before the show.

My friend and I lost our collective shit over this for days.

Plus, I got backstage passes to two shows.

Which, by the way, were completely UNREAL!

4. He was a very humble and down to earth guy.
And had a most original and memorable appearance and demeanor. Seemed like a content individual. Small in stature, but huge in persona and presence. And of course, talent.
