So, I'm driving the speed limit on the freeway today....
and this guy in a car with Choose Life license plates gets right on my ass and swerves left and right. Um, dude, the traffic is at a stand still about a 1/4 of a mile ahead....I drive this freeway every day. So, what does he do as he finally passes me? He flips me the bird.

Choose Life my ass.

I was pissed, but maintained.

1. Good for you.
He chooses birth and cares nothing for life after that.

Plus, he could've even been in someone else's car for that matter.

4. Actually, it was an exit ramp from one freeway to another...
and it was rush hour.

Once you approach the next freeway, traffic comes to a stand still, as people do not know how to merge.

So here he is, coming up on my ass at 85, in a 55 MPH area, and then almost touches my the rear of my car. I pumped the brakes, to let him know I was not speeding and that he had better slow down.

After he swerved in and out of traffic to get over to the other lane, he flipped me off.

Asshole.

14. Here's a nifty little trick..
without having to pump the brakes..

Turn on your headlights on and off (if it's daylight, it'll work perfectly - nighttime, not so much)

He will think you're slowing down, when you're not.

Great trick to dissuade tailgaters.

19. you don't have to pump the brakes to get the brake lights to go on...
just touching it can usually do the trick.

20. When a jackass tailgates me, I never touch the brakes; instead,
(1) I put on my warning flashers, and
(2) I gradually drop my speed slightly by 1 or 2 mph

My experience is that the jackass always (and usually instantly) decides to pass me

Psychology: Putting on the warning flashers reminds the jackass that you're driving waay sloower than the nitwit's desired speed -- even if you're actually driving 10 or 15 mph over the limit. The subsequent very slight drop in speed immediately reinforces this: the jackass's reaction will invariably be: OMG! I'm gonna be stuck here behind Mr. Molasses Man for all eternity!

Legal theory: If I brake, and get tail-ended, I don't know how I would explain braking even though aware of the risk of a rear-end collision. But if I put on my warning flashers, I can always note I made an effort to warn the tailgater; and I can justify the subsequent gradual slow down after putting on my flashers by pointing out: Tailgating creates a risk of a rear-end collision, and the risk increases with vehicle speed. All very cautious and prudent ...

5. some people are such dickheads.
I had a woman in a small car swerve around me one day. I was in the fast lane and she was riding my ass. (I was going OVER the speed limit to begin with, but don't tell anyone ;D) She pulled around me all of a sudden and honked for at me for like 500 years. My husband was like "WHAT THE FUHHHH!" Then she promptly got stuck behind a semi =)

8. I wonder if she's related to the idiot who almost rear-ended me a while back
I made the mistake of stopping at a stale yellow light, not realizing how close she was on my tail. She was on her cell phone, too. She behaved the way the "Choose Life" asshole did, too. She was still carrying on a the next light a few miles away. I just flipped her back, shook my head and ignored her. This numbskull didn't have a "choose life" sticker on her car, but she did have one of those South Carolina flag decals that are red instead of blue. Yeah--that RED.

9. I cannot stand cell phone talkers....
and especially those texting.

Seriously, I drive a stick. I could drive and talk on my phone, but it would be difficult and I choose not to do it. If I do use the phone, I will put it on speaker.

It's illegal to text and drive in AZ...yet you see many people every day doing so.

I like to think those that do this are Repukes. :-)

7. How I deal with tailgaters
I simply slow down to the speed at which it would be safe for them to be following at that distance.

15. A few years ago I was driving to work on Route 50 in Maryland
It was snowing. The accumulation wasn't much - maybe 3 or 4 inches - but the road had not been plowed, so I will admit that seeing the lane lines was difficult. However, you could pretty much figure out where the lanes were as there were tire tracks from other vehicles visible. I was in the far right lane doing a slow but steady 30 or so mph. Behind me a huge 4 wheel drive SUV pulled up right on my tail. The guy starts to flip his lights on and off and in general indicate that he wants me to either go faster or pull over to the left so he can pass me. Yo, man - I'm in the far right lane already - there is plenty of room to the left for you to pass me on and no other cars in sight. Finally he jerked his wheel, pulled around me, flipped me the bird and roared off. I saw on his bumper as he disappeared around a curve in the road a Darwin fish being eaten by a Christian fish bumper ornament and a sticker for a local Republican candidate for office. I continued to drive my 30 or so mph and round the same curve. Lo and behold - the SUV was there stopped in the middle of the road and facing the wrong direction. Skid marks in the snow on the road indicated that he had done at least 2 revolutions before coming to rest facing the wrong way. He was just sitting there with a pole-axed look on his face. Usually I don't do this sort of thing because you just never know if some idiot is packing a gun and will go nuts, but I really had had enough of his stupid driving behavior, so I waved jauntily as I passed him in my small, front-wheel drive car going 30 mph. Truthfully, I doubt that he say me because he was still trying to figure out how come his 4 wheel drive SUV had skidded on such a small amount of snow, and forgetting that there was, in all probability, ice under the said snow, which is no respecter of 4 wheel drive.

23. Yes, very satisfying.
One of my biggest pet peeves is "asshole drivers".

Yes, I am the best driver in the world. :-)

But come on, life is short...no need to drive like Mad Max.

Oh, and use your damn turn signals damnit!!!!!!

22. BBButtt - you gotta have 4WD!!!
'Cuz you can get so much further into trouble, so much faster!

Oh, yeah - the doofus likely had worn-out, no season tires, and was numb/insulated to road feel/traction.
