43. oh, you should, much better than those CSI things - IMHO
very clever, good acting, wonderfully convoluted at times, Mulder's great smart-ass sense of humor. Particularly the first couple years...

"Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" is another strong contender.

Of those listed, "Musings" undoubtedly.

Life is like a box full of chocolates...

5. "How the Ghosts Stole Christmas"? I love that one!
In terms of the serious X-Files stuff, too difficult to decide.

But I really love the episode (can't remember the name) that showed that the Cigarette Man was the one who killed JFK, King, and others, including space aliens.

Walking in Memphis

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Post-Modern_Prometheus
he episode chronicles Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully's (Gillian Anderson) investigation when a letter from a single mother leads them to a small Midwestern town where a modern-day version of Frankenstein's monster lives. The two agents travel to Bloomington, Indiana to meet with the author of the letter. The creature who attacked her is similar to a comic book character her son created and named "The Great Mutato". Her son and his friends take the two agents to a wooded area where they lay a trap for the monster using peanut butter sandwiches. They see the creature from a distance and the group gives chase but they lose him in the darkness.

...and over. He robs and blows up a bank...etc...etc...

Other one is where this Goof-off finds a rug in a storage bin and inside is a
"Jeanie" (Genie) ..She grants him and his brother 3 wishes...and the trouble starts. :)

35. Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
Mostly for the immortal Peter Boyle, and his mumbled line to Mulder, "Auto-erotic asphyxiation is a horrible way to die."

The other one I really liked was the one where Mulder and Scully come in contact with some force that causes them to snipe at each other. In one scene, Scully jumps into the driver's seat to drive them somewhere and makes a cutting comment about how she can drive just fine, thank you very much. Mulder observes that he always drives because he assumed that Scully's tiny feet wouldn't reach the pedals.

Scummy and Moldy move into a suburban house where something weird is stirring up the lawn. Mulder whacks the crap out of mailboxes. They call each other Laura and Rob and Poopy-Face.

I wish they had had more eps in suburbia.

And I love the deadpan things Mulder says. I wish they were all collected somewhere. Like this one:

Scully: Mulder, have you ever thought about killing yourself?
Mulder: Yes. After I saw an Ice Capades show.
