The moment of decision is at hand!!!
I went to a few more dealerships today.

There are currently two cars on the list:

The aforementioned Contour

A 1995 Olds Cutlass with 122k on the ticker.

Test drove the olds, a '93 Sable (brings back fond memories of my old Taurus, but the flashing battery light brought back some not so fond memories of that Taurus, fucking shit-ass electrical system.)

Tried out a '91 Cavalier and a '90 Mazda 323, hated them both.

I'll try one more dealership tomorrow, then make my decision.

2. I had no electrical trouble at all..
With my '92 Tempo. It was just my '88 Taurus that had the crappy electrical system.

5. Have had fords....
off and on since the '50's.If you got one with good electric's o.k.but if you got one with bad you were gonna be plagued until you got rid of it or it burned.Current stuff is better than the old motorcraft stuff but only marginally.

3. When making large and life-changing decisions
I always use one of those "eight balls." The ones you shake and then read the message that floats up; maybe, ask again, no, yes, call Uncle Herman.

4. I own an 86 Cavalier
It's really not such a bad car. It has held up well over the years. The later models actually went downhill though.
