Help! Can I stuff the turkey tonight if I am not putting it in until tomorrow
morning? (celebrating Christmas on the 24th because the ex has the kids Christmas this year). We are eating earlier than usual and I don't want to wake up at fecking 5 AM if I can avoid it.
Even though you will rinse the bird's cavity it is not the best storage container.
Definitely make it tonight and refrigerate it until you are ready to roast the turkey. The flavors of all of your ingredients will meld together overnight and be even more yummy. Have a great time!
7. Sorry, no. :^( The bactaeria that builds up in the stuffing won't cook out and you could
get soooo sick!
You can do what I do, though, which is to make the stuffing and cover the bowl with foil and leave it in the fridge overnight. That way all you have to do come morning is stuff the bird and pop it in the oven.
13. I wouldn't stuff the turkey until two hours before the bird is done
The bacteria in the turkey will seep into the stuffing, not getting hot enough to kill them. You and/or your loved ones risk getting sick from stuffing put in the bird raw.
My mom made that mistake; she didn't know any better. I got sick from the stuffing every time--the stuffing trots.
