So, how's your bracket look this morning?
Edited on Mon Mar-22-04 10:45 AM by GOPisEvil
The good:
I have correctly identified 12/16 "Sweet 16" teams.
My Atlanta Regional Bracket is PERFECT - not a blemish on it. :-)
More: I only missed one game in the East Rutherford Regional.

The bad:
One of my "Final 4" teams is out. (Thanks Kentucky, for nothing.)
More: Don't ask about the Phoenix Regional (only my final 4 pick, UCONN is alive out there.)

1. I picked some bad upsets
Edited on Mon Mar-22-04 10:44 AM by TSIAS
I thought Texas Tech would beat St. Joe's, while I figured Kentucky and Stanford would advance with ease. Gonzaga was also a shocker for me.

I thought Kentucky was solid. I saw them play Florida twice, and both times they won by 20 points. I guess UAB's depth got the best of them. Kentucky will play 10 guys, but the bench is inexperienced and overall not very good.

2. Oh yeah...Gonzaga...
Bummer, I was rooting for them too.
And Kentucky...what were they playing at?

And what in the name of darn-tootin' are you talking about?

22.  UAB's depth?? Your kidding - maybe you should review
the playing time of UAB's players. It wasn't the depth, sweetheart, Kentucky flat ass got spanked.

By the way I'm U of A Wildcatter.

23. As a UK grad and one who bleeds blue
I have to agree: Kentucky got spanked. The Cats played a weak game. Still, we had a dang fine season. My hat is off to UAB.

4. You've got to choose
You can't have both...urk.

I'm a jam man, but have been known to lean towards the butter side (deep breaths, waves butter knife in 2 hands) "I am you eater, Toast"

"No, nooooo!!" Bread jumps off table top, lands butter side up on floor.

5. It ain't pretty.
Let's just say this picture looks better than my bracket at this point...

Gonzaga? Ouch.
Kentucky? Oww.
Stanford? Owww.

Wait 'til next year, I guess...

(I'm used to saying that phrase - I'm also a Cubbies fan...)

6. Toast
I have 6 of 16 left. I have four potential EE teams, three potential FF, and my overall winner.

After round one, I was second in my pool, just two points back. After round two, I'm 9th (out of 32), 28 points back. My biggest problem is that I lost so many of my teams that I had moving on. Picking Wisconsin over Pitt didn't hurt too much, because I had them losing in the next round to OK St. Picking Gonzaga over Nevada killed me, because I had the 'Zags going to the finals. Oops!

9. I took the paper they were written on....
and used it as toilet paper. About all that it is worth right now. I had KY and Stanford in the finals and I had St JOe's losing in the second round to Texas Tech (gotten love a team coached by Bobby Knight.)

10. Bad
The picks I got wrong.

Washington defeating UAB, Kentucky defeating Washington(in the 2nd round), Providence defeating Pacific, Texas Tech defeating St. Joe's(in the 2nd round), Richmond defeating Wisconsin, Arizona defeating Seton Hall, Murray State defeating Illinois, Murray State defeating Cincinnatti(in the 2nd round), UNC defeating Texas, Louisville defeating Xavier, Louisville defeating Miss State(in the 2nd round), Southern Illinois defeating Alabama, Southern Illinois defeating Stanford(in the 2nd round), Western Michigan defeating Vanderblit, and Western Michigan defeating NC State(in the 2nd round). Other then that I did ok.

21. Those are pretty much the ones I missed too
I have mixed emotions about the Kentucky upset. As a former Kentuckian (but Louisville graduate), I love to see ANYBODY beat UK (which doesn't happen often!). So I was pretty excited to see UAB send 'em packing.

The only bad thing is, I figured KY was the only team with a shot at beating Duke. And Duke is the one team I despise more than KY.

11. Not as bad as it coulda been
I'm in 6th in teh DU yahoo thing. I was as high as 4th after the spectacular day I had Friday (was 14-2).

I got hammered on the St. Louis regional. I have NO teams left.

Got 3 of 4 left in the East Rutherford bracket - I went with Wisconsin so close to home over Pitt. (Who woulda thunk me betting against Pitt. ;-) )

I've got 3 of 4 in the Atlanta regional...didn't have Xavier but I rooted for 'em yesterday anyway. :)

And I've still got 3 of 4 in the Phoenix regional. Like most of the planet I overestimated Stanford. :(

13. This may be my best bracket ever.
I've led my office pool from the first round and I have all four of my final four teams left.

In the ESPN pool, I'm sitting at above the 99 percentile for now, whatever that means.

15. Pitt Pitt Pitt!!!!
yeah Pitt... we squeaked over the first two... we'll have to see about
Ok State. We're scrappy, we'e slightly bedraggled, we're Pitt!

and hooray for teams with St. in front of their name... Catholic influence can't help it.

alas for Kentucky and Stanford though.
