Journal: Day one of the Blizzard of 2009
9:45 A.M- I can't get out my front door because of a large snow-drift blocking the way...provisions are low here, and we're out of milk, bread, and eggs...don't know how much longer we will be able to survive..........

I'm drinking my own urine

5. I'll snap a photo as soon as my camera battery charges.
I haven't touched my camera since my return from Turkey back in September. Shame on me. But it's pretty deep out there. I guess I'll be off the bike and hoofing it until there's a melt.

8. Out the front door of my building.
This is in Arlington, Va. I'm about to venture out and trek up to the library. Yeah, it's closed but I'll drop some books off, then do my Saturday grocery run up there. What's left of last week's loaf of bread has turned mouldy. I'll probably take the train back, if they're running. If I'm not back in a few hours, then unleash the Saint Bernards. :)

17. You could melt the snow and drink that...

Drinking that melted snow will produce MORE urine after all.

22. I'm back from my arctic trek.
With Yaktrax on my shoes, I didn't slip and slide so much and made good time. A few eejits were trying to drive out on the roads. Behemoth SUV's stuck in the snow brought on some gloating. Usually in this area, when it snows it's rather friendly. Almost festive with people trudging out in the middle of the streets. Not any more. Especially the rich snot-nosed Georgetown students bunking over here in Arlington. With narrow walk ways, they expect everyone else to give way. Don't worry, we friendly people took care of them, and they won't be found until the snow melts in the Spring.

The grocery store was near empty so I got my bread for the week.

And I took the train back, as my stop was before the line ran outside into the elements. And that bit is closed.
