Question for Computer Geeks
My Kazaa-Lite won't launch. When I click on the Kazaa icon I get an error message "Load Library Failed" WTF? I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting. Nothing can get past the Load Library error.

Random question I know but if anyone has any advice, please share. BTW I'm running Win98.

1. Have you ran a spy sweep or anything?
That would happen to me after I ran a spy sweep and it would delete a certain file that Kazza Lite would use. I would have to uninstall and reinstall it to get it working.
Since then though the last time I tried to get it up and running it wouldn't connect. Not sure why, but I ahve since deleted it completely and I use Gnucleus now and really like it.

4. Kazaa needs the spyware
for it to work. Why? I dunno but it does. I wouldn't use kazaa at all, it has got to be one of the worst programs created (ever since they sold out big time). Go to download.com and see what people are saying about it. I use Ares, and I can still use ad-aware to get rid of the spyware and Ares still works.
Kazaa downloads a shitload of programs that are running right now and you don't even know it. You have to un-install them (start menu-contorl panel- ad/remove programs) to get rid of them. You can also use msconfig to get all of the programs that startup along with windows to stop starting up. I do this all day for my job it's really easy. If you need help getting the spyware off your computer feel free to email me or PM or whatever. Good luck.

5. Thanks for the info
I was told Kazaa "Lite" didn't have all that shit with it, but maybe that's incorrect. Gnucleus seems to be a good program.

Never used it.. but if I recall, Kazaa Lite (are you sure that is what you are using ?) was dependent on a "dummy" dll file.. basically, Kazaa Lite was Kazaa stripped of the spyware component.. they had to install a dummy dll file to fool the software into thinking the spyware was still active. Wonder if that got installed seperately, or deleted... brb.
