1. Age 6, Verity Lambert
Or if people hate black'n'white television just because it's not color, then I'd go with Tom Baker.

I first saw the show on KSTP in 1978. Age 6... then it went to KTCA in 1979~1980...

2. Absolutely Tom BAker. Age six sounds about right.
Ah, you've just triggered fond memories of the Daleks. (The giant saltshakers who chanted "exterminate!"

6. I think that's what we did - our son says he was 9, though I thought he was

younger.

Christopher Eccleston was the first Doctor he saw, apparently. I thought he saw Tom Baker first... Baker the gentlest doctor in some ways. My son has seen all of em, even the early ones. Personally, I think the more recent ones are scarier... with the older ones the cheesy but cool effects aren't quite as creepy.

I used to think kids would be too young, but if you watch those old Brit series, they always talk about little kids (6,7?) hiding behind the couch when the Daleks, etc. were on. ;D

No you aren't crazy - Dr. Who is simply wonderful, on so many levels. I'm so glad they brought the series back.

8. That sounds about right to me.
My kids liked Tom Baker best, and the younger one was about 6 when we started watching.

9. My 14 year old son is obsessed!
He started at 9 or 10. The BBC America one at first, but watches all.
