What are you paying for home cooking oil?
I like to cook mostly with coconut oil, but it's rather costly. Though I can get it for a good deal less at Whole Foods than at the local Kroger, I can't shop at Whole foods at my preferable grocery-shopping hour of after midnight. So, I end up paying about $9 for 14-oz. Kroger's brand extra virgin olive oil was (I think) $6 for a liter, so that's not bad.

Do any of y'all buy cooking oil by the gallon? I can't use it up that fast, so I can't justify buying it in bulk amounts...

1. I get it really cheap at Grocery Outlet.
Since it keeps for a while if stored properly, I just grab a bottle or two when they have a kind I like for a good deal. I usually keep around peanut oil for frying, organic canola or safflower oil for baking, and usually a couple of different kinds of organic olive oil.

5. If you do that, you can make your own soap

You know there are grocery stores here that sell lard by the 5-gal bucket? What are they doing, bathing in it? :P
