Poll question: Greatest John Lennon song from White Album, Let It Be or Abbey Road
8 songs in chronological order plus "all of the above" and "other." Blame Skinner and the admins for narrowing the focus, not me.

2. Across the Universe is an absolutely beautiful song...
There are many versions of the song. One I particularly like is 10CC's live version.

3. Revolution
Yeah, the single version was actually better than "Revolution 1" on the White Album, but it's still a great song.

Here's a longer version of the album cut though..... and you can finally hear how the fuck they got from "Revolution 1" to "Revolution 9"

5. Yes, "Julia"...sowing the seeds for the "Plastic Ono Band" album
When you take his collected songs from "The White Album," you see a more introspective, gentle approach to what would later surface on Lennon's first solo album. The difference was his introduction to primal scream therapy. "Julia" was the love letter, but "Mother" and "My Mummy's Dead" were the howl, and in reality, it was all one song, written by one man.

That's actually my favorite part of Neil Young's "Year Of The Horse" live album with Crazy Horse...at the very beginning he shouts "IT'S ALL ONE SONG!" And he's right. Artists paint one painting. Musicians write one song. Look at Miles. Look at Trane. It's all connected from beginning to end, no matter how fragmented and haphazard it may seem along the way.

6. +1
"Julia" gives me chills every time. I'd also vote for "Across the Universe"--a perfect musical manifestation of what meditation energy feels like.
