And how many times would they play "Lucky Man?" At what point would you stop flicking your Bic when they play the first notes of that song?

Would you consider the show to be a RIPOFF because the band didn't play an encore, even though they couldn't, because it was a never-ending show?

DISCUSS.

1. Easy
You keep paying hourly until you're bankrupt and then you have to give up your seat to the next sucker.

2. Because not everyone in the world has bought a ticket yet.
And as the population is forever expanding... well, there ya go

3. But if the show has already started...
...the only thing that can "end" it is the death, by natural (old age, heart attack, etc) or unnatural (bizarre gardening accident, choking on someone else's vomit, spontaneous combustion) of one or more band members. And if they really ARE professional entertainers, we'd have to be talking about "last man standing."

And you can't buy a ticket for a show that's already started, so that means they can only sell the tickets once.

OR am I missing something here?

6. I've bought tickets for shows that already started.
The people manning the ticket booths don't give a damn if you missed the first ten minutes or the first ten years :P

9. Isn't it ironic that you have to buy a "box set" to get ONE song...
...I remember the 12-CD "In The Beginning" box set, which had something like 168 different live versions, and every month you can enter your code on the ELP Website and download the NEXT batch.

And it's not like there's a major difference between tracks, no special jamming or reggae versions or anything, just the same track over and over and over...

...well, at least they're honest. So far, it looks like it really WILL never end.

I don't want to say I'm getting a little tired of their stuff, but...

10. Well, you know the Internet is also good for torrent downloads...
;)

I haven't purposely listened to ELP in a while, other than a solo by Emerson on the Robert Moog documentary :D

7. Sounds like they learned their lesson from "Woodstock III"
And the "tour t-shirts?"

Fuggedaboudit. If you have to ask how much one COSTS, you can't AFFORD one.

8. Anything 'divided by infinity' approaches zero, so there would be no profit.
It will simply have to end.
