Help Choosing Inkjet All-In-One Printer For Computer? It's Like Pulling Teeth
And it seems like such a crap shoot. I am seriously looking at a Canon Pixma MP560.

Needs to be simple to install on a Mac running 1.04 and simple to use.

Automatic duplex printing- a desirable asset.

Speed- not a real issue.
Quality of text- not a real issue.

Don't need fax.
Don't need wireless.

1. I've had a Cannon Pixma MP530 for a few years now
It's been great. No complaints, no issues. It seems to do everything pretty well.

I'm also a Mac user. I've used it both with the Mac and PC with no problems.

2. Whatever HP has for $100 or less.
I've got several (wive and 3 kids) and they are reliable and sturdy.

4. it is a crap shoot
they are just disposable junk so don't spend too much

what are you wanting it for?

for lower end, consumer use:

lots of b & w printing get a laser printer - cheaper to use

general use - just about anything will do (I have a cannon pixma 1600 and rather like it) although consumer reports suggests (at the time I was looking) you NOT get all-in-ones - a separate scanner will last longer than the printer

the best ink is epson's but their printers suck unless you use them REGULARLY - they clog and fail, no repair possible. real pieces of shit that use all the ink in cleaning cycles and lie to you about being empty and not printing, but the ink is water proof and really nice.

5. I just bought a Canon Pixma MX330 for work.
My scanner crapped out and I picked this up for $75. I don't need the printer, fax or copier part of it, but it'll be a good backup if my Laserjet craps out.

6. I have the Canon MP620B, got it a couple of months ago on sale at Best Buy.
It's worked well so far. The Best Buy site is a good place to look at regular peoples' reviews of whatever it is you are looking to by that is sold there.
