1. Kansas City from Oklahoma
One of the gals was fat and pink and pretty,
As round above as she was round below.
I could swear that she was padded
From her shoulder to her heel,
But latter in the second act
When she began to peel
She proved that ev'rythin' she had was absolutely real!
She went about as fur as she could go,
Men:
Yes sir!
She went about as fur as she could go!

12. I just had an epiphany
:D

I really don't like the singing in musicals very much (unless it's a choir; I don't like a solo performer crooning away, but a group of people is great) but I LOVE dancing in a movie.

Hmm. Nice to have that figured out. (Isn't there a head-scratching smilie somewhere?)

17. I wouldn't argue with a single pick on your list ...
But I would like to add something that some might find a bit too far-flung from such classics as Gene Kelly's "Singin' in the Rain".

From "Bride & Prejudice", a beautifully choreographed number:

BTW, I am very impressed that you included the opening credits from "Bye Bye Birdie" in your list.

26. It wasn't exactly spectacular or moving, but...
...a personal favorite is "I Enjoy Being a Girl" the Flower Drum Song.

I posted the clip here a week or two ago.

I also like "State Fair" (the Jeanne Crain version, NOT the Pat Boone / Ann Margaret one), but once again, when I think "spectacular" I think of the Esther Williams musicals. When I think of "moving," there was a pretty cool sequence with Ricardo Montalban and Cyd Charisse in the Esther Williams flick "On An Island With You." In the film, Montalban is engaged to Williams, but slowly begins to discover that Charisse is closer to being his "soul mate." The reality hits both of them during that number.
