Home from work today.....Who else has the swine flu?
Well, my family has contracted the swine flu. My daughter's temps were scary high.....up to 104+ at one point! But the high fever lasted only a few days and she's fine now, except for some coughing. I'm keeping her home so she won't spread it to the other kids, but it's probably too late. She was probably contagious for a day or two before her symptoms started.

I thought I would mention that for me, a (relatively) healthy adult, the swine flu has been one of the mildest flus I've ever had. I caught it the same time she did. I hardly knew I was sick. I had a low fever and felt a little achy and yucky for a few days. My nose was a little stuffy, and stomach mildly queasy, but I have been fully recovered for several days now. So what I've been hearing on the news is panning out....it hits children hard but for a healthy adult, it can be very mild.

On a lighter note, I am getting bored stiff sitting around the house. Anybody know any fun websites to while away my time?

1. For adults in can be pretty mild - or have you out of work for a week
I've known some pretty healthy adults who really got nailed with it but thats the nature of most illnesses.

2. I wonder if I've acquired some immunity somewhere along the line.
My husband had it worse than I did. His fever was higher and he ended up with a sinus infection afterward.

3. I think we both had it for about 2 1/2 weeks, mild but a PITA
and nagging. Over now, but I'm still not 100% back yet.

Good luck - drink a lot of juice and non caffinated fluids, get rest.
Stock up on kleenex.

4. Had it last week. It wasn't too bad. I'm beginning to be among the living again.
The worst part is finding out I went out a little too early and most likely gave it to a colleague that I dearly love and who's no spring chicken. He's in tremendous shape, though, so I think (hope!) he'll be okay.

5. That's what I'm afraid of doing.

I keep hearing that you are contagious longer with swine flu than the regular flu. I guess I'll hide in my office for a few days when I get back, if I can, just in case.

6. I had it a few weeks ago.
I didn't feel all that bad, just really, really tired. My kid got hit a little harder but he bounced back faster, he gets over anything in a day or two.

I caught up on a lot of reading and Netflix movies.
