4. Staying home, making toast and smoked lox for CMW and me for dinner.
No Halloween here, now that our goddaughters and their friends are mid to late teens. When they were little, we did the whole Halloween thing, though: carved pumpkins, scary music sometimes, tons of candy. Our only rule was that the kids had to come in some sort of costume, and they were very, very well rewarded for helping the only American in the village enjoy Halloween. :)

Happy Halloween, sweets, from your godkitten and me!

5. My dear Bertha!
Staying home, running up and down the front hallway to give out the treats to the neighborhood kids!

They are almost without exception very cute with imaginative costumes...

We enjoy it a lot!

6. Going to dinner @ friends' house, then t-or-ting w/ four families.
We have the best time. We are a big, happy group of eight kids and eight adults (the adults carry wine glasses :) ). Halloween is far and away my favorite holiday.

Ideally, snuggling up with a big gorgeous guy, with a fire in the fireplace and some nice, chilled wine. :loveya:

Our son gave out the candy (he's over the trick or treating thing) and I made spanakopita and some pumpkin bread, then we watched Young Frankenstein and opened up a bottle of Gnarly Head Old Vine Zin.

16. I'm planning on a lame night
Going out to see a friend's band, and probably going home before 10:30. There are a couple of parties I could go to, but I didn't feel like putting together an expensive costume this year, and the streets are full of hooligans. I won't be giving out candy, either; I haven't had a trick-or-treater in four years, so I gave up.

He's too old for t or t and not old enough quite for teen parties..

:hi:

We didn't have a ton of kids, just a handful, but the pumpkin on the steps looked good. It's always good to see our neighbors kids all decked out!
