MSN is reporting that two of the young stars of the movie Slumdog Millionaire could lose their trust fund if the kids do not start attending school more often. I think this is very sad partly because I think the filmmakers could do more for these kids. It is being reported that the two kids have a trust fund of an undisclosed amount and are given a monthly stipend of $120 a month. Even though the cost of living in India is very cheap I believe the filmmakers could give each of these kids a bigger monthly stipend. In addition, the filmakers could have given these kids better homes from the start. The filmmakers recently bought the kid who played salim (Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail) a one bedroom apartment for $50,000; however, the kid who played latika (Rubina Ali) still lives in the slum. Her father reportedly claims there is not enough money to buy a better house for his daugther and he is asking the government to help with the cost of buying a new house. The filmmakers could just buy this kid a decent home.
