I confess, I'm a wuss.
I turned on the heat tonight. The temps finally dropped below 60° and my toes are cold. The house feels so much colder now -- I replaced the carpet with laminate.

1. You're just conforming to your climate
When I lived in Seattle, 60 meant it was time to break out the shorts. In L.A., it was in the low 60's today and I wore long sleeves. :-)

3. Exactly...
I remember that when growing up in the Emerald City... and then in the Windy City 50 was time to break out the shorts. I always have a thin jacket in my classroom too -- sometimes the AC is just too much. I am a wuss!

2. My dear Catshrink!
Houses without carpet do feel colder! No fuzzy stuff to hold in the heat...

And I would not say you're a wuss...

A temperature below 60 certainly deserves the heat on.

Stay warm!

4. You're so right!
I realized that after I replaced the carpet but I don't regret doing so. Carpet and pets are incompatible. Time to shop for throw rugs!

I even put a blanket on the bed last night.

5. when it got down into the 40's the other day.
All I did was close the doors and windows. I don't even turn on the heat until the temperature inside the house drops below 60-but then I don't turn on the AC until it gets above 85 inside. With the insulation in our house it takes about 3 days of below 40 to drop the temp inside enough to turn on the heat.

6. I've had my heat on for about a month now
So I guess I'm wussier than you. :)

Actually, there have been a few days so far this fall where the high didn't get above 50 and the lows were around freezing. We've already had a couple of heavy frosts. But I shouldn't complain, I guess, what with our friends out west already getting blizzards.
