The thing about Jon & Kate that really bugs me

I have no interest in them or their children or their lifestyle. None whatsoever. So, like a dutiful and informed tv entertainment consumer, I choose not to watch their insipid programs nor to tune into their endless appearances on "news" programs.

However, I still know everything about them that there is to know, despite my active effort to stay out of the loop.

Why? Because every time I log into my email, Comcast sees fit to give me an update. When, out of boredom, I check HuffPo, I see him or her looking flabbergasted in a little blurb along the side of the page. And at least one of them is on the cover of every magazine in the grocery check-out aisle.


The typical DU response to "I hate so-and-so on tv" is "change the channel," but that doesn't go nearly far enough in cases like this. How oh how is a person to avoid being inundated with this spilth?
