1. depending on the severity of any mental illness it can be very hard on the spouse

the writing seems to be talking in generalities of one what may/may not expect. i think when you dont have aspergers warning one of what to expect is not entirely a bad idea.

As for spouses, its all about synergy and chemistry. If their Sig Other brings out the best in them, then its a good marriage.

As for parents - I've known quite a few aspies in the tech industry who have kids. In most cases, not only were they good parents, if their kids were aspies too the parents knew what it was like.
