What is the name of the car that was popular several years ago and
looks like a throwback to the 1940s? I ask because a friend of mine is thinking of buying one, and I want to talk her out of it. It's a fad car.

4. Yes, thank you, man!
:hi:

By the way, I'm still using my humane mouse traps--though I missed one for about 13 hours in the trap (I was at work) and it died. :-(

But I've saved and released four so far, and I'm sure there are more to come.

8. Good for you!
BTW, good for talking them out of it. They aren't building them anymore, for a spectacular number of good reasons.

11. I feel really bad about the dead mouse, primarily because I know
that it starved to death. That's worse than using a trap that kills a mouse instantly. :( Still, I've let loose a good number of mice into the nature center.

Re the car, man, I don't know why she is so attached to that idea. I think they look silly, and if they look silly, then they're probably made and marketed just for that.

What are the number of good reasons? I'm hoping I can tell her about them.

13. I understand completely.
I've found dead lizards between my windows and screens. No idea how they got in there, but chances are they starved to death because I didn't find them in time.

The reasons? Reliability is the big one. I've heard from folks that have had a great experience, but most everyone I know that's had one has said it's put together by 6 year olds with a toy tool box. Depreciation is another huge issue. Also, the 5 door hatch market is saturated with far better cars, and the throwback look only worked until they were a dime a dozen everywhere.

16. Yeah, but with this mouse, I actually set the trap! And then I was
gone due to work and then forgot for a night when I got home--so I feel really bad. On the upside, I relocated four mice before the fifth one died, and I know there are more in here because Daisy is alerting me. She stands in front of the cabinets with her ears up...She hears the mouse activity even when I don't.

Thanks for your info on the car--the throwback look was the weird thing to me, and I'll alert my friend. People get crazy about marketing--this amazes me. :hi:

12. That's exactly what my Cruiser looks like! Same color and everything!
I love my Cruiser, but word of warning for the first-time buyer: On no account allow the dealership to perform maintenance on your Cruiser once the warranty has expired. I'm convinced Chrysler has a system for their service department by which they can cause a mishap requiring an expensive diagnostic to happen just a hundred or so miles down the road. My car was always in the shop, for a number of years running. Finally I got fed up, and started getting the maintenance done at a reliable local garage. Haven't had a lick of trouble with it since.

Anyway, I bought my Cruiser because I loved the retro- thirties & forties design. And I still do. B-)

14. It's good to hear this, but my friend is in her sixties and does not do
car maintenance of any kind. So I will warn her about this, and thank you!

15. She doesn't need to. There has got to be a respected, reliable local garage around there
that she can take it to. Mechanics have a (sometimes justified) reputation for being cheats and incompetents. But I've learned that the opposite is sometimes just as true. Lot of good mechanics out there who want to earn and keep life-long loyal customers with good, cheerful, polite, and price-worthy service.

7. Prowler = never popular.
Very cool looking, total failure. But that's what happens when you put a 6 cylinder in a car that looks like that and costs that much.

Yeah, they've stopped making them so you're right about the fad part.

9. I'm not surprised.
My friend is enamored with this car and wants to buy one. She saw one in Montana once and then rented one.

17. Had a rental one back in the summer.
Suspension of a little red wagon

Engine of a go-cart

Brakes of a Bigwheel

But it looked cool and had a neat clock

Look cool, though.....

Those I know who bought one have long since sold them.
