Poll question: What do you call 'athletic shoes'?
I guess I call 'em 'sneaks', mostly.
Although I'm not sure that I've ever used them to actually 'sneak'.

Once I was denied access to the casino in Amsterdam because of 'improper dress'.
"No sportif shoes."
Well, EX-C-U-U-U-SE me!
;-)

Oh...'Easy Walkers'...
When I was a kid I got a new pair of 'tennis shoes'(?) every summer.
Black hightops with the round white rubber patch on the inside ankles.
Keds?
Maybe. I forget.
Granny called them Easy Walkers.

Anyway, I'd get those and think I had wings on my feet.
I was convinced that with those shoes I could run faster, jump higher, than any other kid on my block.
Maybe I could?

2. I understand there are 'sports specific' shoes.
I'm a walker.
I just bought a new pair of 'walking' shoes.
I still call them sneaks.
