4. I do have so much fun.
I work about 80 hours a week but it goes by so fast. I mean if I was working any other job for 80 hours, I think I'd die.

2. I worked at an amusement park while in high school and college.
It was the best job I ever had. Sad thing is, I didn't realize it at the time.

I'm glad to see you know what a cool job you have and are enjoying it so much.

:hi:

5. Yeah when I used to visit the park I always thought...
"well that would be such a cool job."
Not knowing that I would one day have that job. I think I am one of the luckiest people.

7. I'm glad you like your gig so much.
Putting smiles on people's faces all day must be rewarding.

(BTW, you're pretty darned cute!)

13. What a nice post for me to read before I go to bed! (read below!)
That is great that you love your job there - have fun. I worked at a few theme parks for my entire time in college (also in rides) and loved it. Enjoy this job while it lasts because you will later realize (years down the line) that you won't have that again. Of course it is hard to please all theme park guests, especially if kids are too small to ride or it is hot or the waits are long etc etc. But the ones you can please can make your day too.

Cedar Point is awesome and I especially love Mil Force and Maverick. But I also really like Disaster Transport. :) Perhaps a bit silly (welcome to Alaska!) but that is why I like it. I didn't go to CP this year but did go the past few years. My fiance and I are theme park fans so have been to tons of parks. I hope you use your employee pass to go to King's Island because their new ride Diamondback is great!

14. I was supposed to go to KI a couple of times...
but got sick both times so I wasn't able to go. Next year for sure, I will go. Working at Disaster Transport has been really fun and I am really hoping to be in charge of it next year. fingers crossed. I've been in charge there a lot since I'm second in charge and everything's gone great so i think i have a chance. I adore working in rides. I have met so many new people. A lot of whom are like family to me. I'm glad you enjoyed my post. I have never made a better decision than to leave home and come work here.

15. When I worked at one park (in FL), I knew quite a few who had worked at CP!
They really had fun working there. Good luck getting a lead position!

I also loved working in rides and though I love my "real" job now, I miss working in rides all the time, especially at Disney.

16. Yeah I had considered doing the Disney College Program.
But then Cedar Point called and it was closer and i am more into thrill rides and thought it would be exciting. I'm definitely up to giving Disney a try. Maybe in a couple years.

24. You would be a star at Disney
They have their share of problems with cast members quitting, low morale, even occasional reports of rudeness. I read the Disney fan sites a lot. You would have a major career there with your smile and fun personality that is apparent just from photos.

17. Thanks for sharing these! I'm a huge amusement park fan
and of course, Cedar Point is always on my radar, I think I'm up for another trip there next year, staying on-site.

A friend of mine used to work White Water Landing, shortly after it opened, and told me some wonderful stories about it, and the Witches Wheel crews and their experiences. Do you still do "the Cedar Point Strut", the fast walking since employees aren't allowed to run?

28. HAHA! Yes we do,
The ride-op power walk. I think a lot of the weight I lost was just from that. It's mainly the ride hosts who do that . (because we are the elite )

You see, our nametags are our I.D.s here so they get us into the park for free. We also get 4 free tickets to give to whomever we want,

19. I may have seen you there inaverdently.
We ride the DT when it gets really hot out and yell stupid things when it gets going.

I once saw Donyell Marshall (ex-Cav) waiting for people at the exit of that ride.

30. You probably did. I've been there all season long....
Just don't pull out a camera or else we stop the lift and march up there. So if I have to do it I get extremely cranky. You'll have to look for me next season. I will definitely be working in rides. Hopefully, I'll be in charge of DT.

20. My college roommate worked at "Cedar Pit" !
Many, many, many, many years ago. She LOVED it. She became a loony Faux-"News" fan, but I can't blame working at the Point.

Most of us who were here all season love it. It's also usually the Ride Hosts who keep coming back. :)

26. Great pics! I worked at Cedar Point during the summer of 2000...
at Sneak Peaks photo. I was one of those annoying people who asks you to take a picture when you walk in the park. It was a fun summer.
