I just flipped off a pro-lifer on the freeway.
For a couple of different reasons, I'm not in a terribly good mood today. As such, I'm in even less of a mood for right-wing bullshit than I usually am.

Out making a delivery run just now, I came upon a car on westbound i-84 with the following bumper sticker: CHOOSY MOMS CHOOSE LIFE. So I pulled up beside the car, got the driver's attention, gave her the finger, and sped off. And you know what? I'm in better spirits now!

And to anyone who think I was being childish and immature, I only will say this: Chompen mein schnitzel, scheisskopf!

Her 46th husband and 5th son by her third lover during the 7th marriage probably are from arkansas and are now on the prowl looking for you with shotguns. You musnt offend people with high levels of morality dont you know

2. I always want to do that
but I usually don't. Although I did once flip off a bunch of antis in front of a church one afternoon. It does make you feel better somehow, but voting in pro-choicers is probably more effective. As someone who used to be a clinic escort, I hate the sanctimony and cruelty of those folks.

4. Their religion is nothing more than a brand name
the following bumper sticker: CHOOSY MOMS CHOOSE LIFE

In my clinic defense days, I'd see all kinds of advertising slogans tweaked to be pro-fundie:

Jesus: The Choice of the LAST Generation (complete with Pepsi-esque swirl logo)

This Blood's For You

and my absolute favorite, on a male anti who worked out:

God's Gym

Then again, when you think about it, advertising and fundamentalism have a lot in common. They're both forms of mass brainwashing.

I knew a guy in high school who wore one of those T-shirts all the time.

My friend Lynn and I have both borrowed pickups from friends and relatives to move, several times, and in doing so sported bumper stickers for which we were not responsible and not in agreement.

My brother once bought a used car that still had bumper stickers from a ski resort in Colorado on it.

Just some food for thought.

7. Sorry, I don't do veal...
How would YOU like it if someone flipped you the bird for no apparent reason?

Next time, try flashing her the peace sign instead. Confuses the hell out of them while allowing you to retain the moral high ground.

I've been big on moral high ground since 1997.

8. She is probably
still trying to figure out why you flipped her off. She may not even associate it with her bumper sticker. You have made an impact on her entire day.

By the way, I am not saying this is a good thing or a bad thing, just an observation.

10. Everybody has an opinion and is entitled to one.
No matter how wrong or off base it may be.

Maybe if her bumper sticker said "I'm pro-life, and you should be too!" or something like it - it might piss me off. But her bumper sticker was relatively inoffensive. It didn't ask you to take her side in an argument, but simply stated hers, without aggressive overtones.

She was probably just a regular person, minding her own business, who is now puzzled as to why someone was rude to her for some unknown reason.

Just my $.02.

Who knows? She might be a member of the "Bush can do no wrong" crowd. And even if she isn't, fuck her anyway!

Think of it as my birthday present to myself. :toast:

20. Would you have done the same thing if the sticker
had been stuck on a chopper being driven by a 270 pound Hell's Angel?

16. I love the "and sped off" part. Were you concerned that she would
force your vehicle to the shoulder, pull you out,and kick your ass?
You were on a delivery run. Hopefully for you you're not driving a company vehicle with any identifying markings or contact information. Someone just might report what you did.

18. Big, brave man!
Her bumper sticker was not rude at all. I know quite a few people who have "chosen life". That is, dealt with an unplanned pregnancy by having the baby. Of course, it is absolutely imperative that a woman have the right to end a pregnancy if she thinks that's the best option at the time.

It's called "Freedom of Choice".

How much do you contribute to Planned Parenthood? How many hours have you devoted to clinic defense? Can't you find a more constructive way to deal with your bad mood?

19. Last time I flipped a guy off on the 405 freeway, the s.o.b. followed me..
for a few miles. There was a police station near my exit, so I cruised in its general direction; my pursuer caught on, and peeled away.

After that experience, I've keep a lid on the flipping-off routine. No need in baiting the nutcases out there -- they're already jacked up enough.
