1. My dear Tuesday Afternoon!
At least 3 days...

I've eaten them older than that...and been fine. As long as it was promptly refrigerated with good wrappings.

And you know...give it the sniff test!

Or...when in doubt, throw it out!

Good luck!

3. Depends on how tightly it is wrapped. If a loose wrap, that has
air inside, 3 days at most. If you can wrap it with plastic wrap, very tightly, a little longer, as it's the air that assists the degeneration process.

8. Cooked meat can last longer than you think
Up to a week - reuse it in something that gets cooked again, such as a casserole or soup.

9. If I handle it - two days. If my wife puts it away - two weeks
She attended an 'old school' nursing school in the seventies. That 'old school' place taught her proper sanitation techniques. I must admit there is merit to the theory; wash hands throughly, then never actually touch the food with the clean hands. Sounds nutty, but it does seems to work.

14. I agree with Peg - If you have doubts, don't eat it - I have had food poisoning
-3 times, actually- and I am very careful about leftovers.

15. How cold is the fridge? How does the meat smell? Are you going to reheat it?
Smelly or moldy, I toss. But I've found good Thanksgiving leftovers jammed at the back of a cold fridge month and months later. If the meat still smells good and isn't moldy, I'll heat it to just barely boiling temperatures for 25 or 30 minutes and then eat it without worry: I subscribe to the view that extended heating will kill pathogens and destroy their toxins

17. I have put Roasted Chicken in the freezer...
Edited on Sun Oct-18-09 05:46 PM by AsahinaKimi
Stuff them in glad bags.. or wrap them in foil...
Will last longer, and you can microwave it for eating later. (or heat it up) It works great in home made soups
or for sandwiches. I love making my own chicken, and it usually lasts a while.
