4. And your post smacks of the rampant ignorance in our society.
If all you know about the Girl Scouts of America is that they sell cookies then you should educate yourself before talking out your ass.

Empowering Girls

In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.

10. As a matter of fact, yeah...
I've had many gal pals who were former Girl Scouts, as well as a few who are/were Scout Leaders, and have heard all of the wonderful stories of their troop activities, outings, and creative ways of earning their badges.

Makes me almost wish that i had been more interested in it when i was a kid.

18. My mom did. She was my brother's den mother and my scout leader. We did lots of
things together. My brother knows how to cook and sew etc., I know how to pitch a tent build a campfire etc. Worked out kind of nice and we all had a blast doing it.

31. Because the Girl Scouts are smart and don't discriminate
unlike the Boy Scouts that exclude atheists and gay people from their ranks. Why mix the bad with the good, it would just bring the Girl Scouts down.

I've never heard of them discriminating but I can't say the same for the Boys Scouts.

21. That's a very curious assertion.
Kindly support it with evidence.

Cookie selling was only a small part of my Girl Scout experience 35 years ago. We went to camp, we did volunteer work, we learned a lot of skills, and we just plain had fun.

First of all, it is not sexist for Girl Scouts to sell cookies. It's called tradition.

Secondly, you seem to either be ignorant of how much Scouts teach a young girl or just simply wanting to start a flame fest. I haven't decided which yet.

Why the segregation? Hmm... do I really need to explain it to you? Boys are more interested in sex at that age (especially 15 or 16 year old boys). Scouts is about more than that. Got it? Or would you like to say something derogatory to my post, too, just to stir things up.

34. The child in the girlscout photo looks like Palin's child.
Edited on Sun Oct-18-09 09:34 AM by RandomThoughts

Is Palin taking credit for burning down the Republicans, or is someone saying that she did? or is it something else? Maybe some other house, or some other meaning?

There is an argument for that from some Republicans.

Anyone think this was intentional?

I should say that is not a slight on her or her family, in my view it would be some sort of compliment. And the Girl Scout photo is found to be witty, so there is no negativity, just curious if it was intentional.

43. Thank goodness I don't know anyone selling them.
They've gotten cheaper and less tasty anyway so it's not too difficult to pass them by when they are selling them outside some of the stores here. I hate it when they allow them to table outside the store entrances. Or anyone else for that matter.
