Good morning Lounge
Edited on Wed Oct-14-09 04:17 AM by MissHoneychurch
How are you today?

It got cold here. Temps near the freezing point

This morning I talked to the janitor regarding my bathroom window. It isn't closing anymore. Seems like I have to buy a new window x(

Also talked with hime about the creep of neighbor from yesterday. He told me that there are quite some complains about Mr.Creepy and he also told me to call the property management. They are collecting complains about Mr.Creepy. They try to get rid of him. I hope they succeed soon. The renter have a lot of rights in Germany. It is very hard to kick one out. So the complains help to kick out Mr.Creepy. I need to start to really complain. I own a condo in the house and it is important for me that I feel save there. And that the creepy guys who take away from the value of the property are gone.

I bought me a new pair of shoes yesterday http://www.ecco.com/de/de/kollektion/damen/business/97543/00101/detail.do Of course I wear them today.

I posted this in GDP first by mistake  Deleted it.

Picture of the Day (Falcon eating - I hope the pic isn't too disturbing)

1. Good morning
I'm doing good. The Rockies was eliminated by Philadelphia in what was an exciting finish. Rocks came from behind to take the lead late in the game only for the Phils to come back themselves and come back as winners.

I feel for you, I hate the cold.

About your neighbor is their more to it other then appears 'creepy'? Unless he is actually doing something I'd leave him alone because looks can be deceiving. However I trust your judgment and only ask because I have no idea what the situation is like and hopefully it works out the best for you. :hi:

:hi:  :loveya:

Sorry about your Rockies

From what the janitor told me and from what I witnessed myself, Mr.Creepy plays VERY loud music, so loud it can be heard on the street (I and appearantly he live on the 9th floor). He is an alcoholic and most likely a drug addict (by now I believe he was high on some drugs yesterday and not drunk). He smokes in the hallway so that I get all the smoke into my condo. He steels, he leaves bottles all over the place. I think that makes it more than creepy.

:hi:  :loveya: :pals:

I hope Mr. Creepy gets the boot, nobody needs that in their life.

Cold here this morning too. Sweatshirt and a coat this morning.

Gonna have my car looked at this morning, the turn signals aren't working.

Love the pic. Falcons gotta eat :)

When I heard this morning that there are efforts to get him out it did improve my mood.

5. Good morning MissH!
Was a great picture - what a great shot!

Mr. Creepy seems to be even more annoying than first we thought. Yes, do complain, but then let others handle the situation. I just hope that he leaves you alone.

I simply LOVE those shoes! My feet are small and wide, so I have a difficult time even finding shoes that fit! The last pair I bought were some Mary Jane's from Birkenstock http://www.happyfeet.com/Products/ANNAPOLIS-LEATHER__FPANNLT1.aspx (they were on sale - I did not pay quite that much for them). They are very comfy.

My book club group certainly had a lively discussion last night over "The Disgrace". We also are some fabulous chili ;) (which I made) and had some wine, and I had a fire going in my fireplace. Very fun evening.

9. Good morning Callalily
:hi:  :loveya:

Thank you :) I have quite a series of the falcon tearing up that baby chicken.

I have problems buying shoes too. I have a half size and I have square feet. So it is a pain in the ass to find shoes for me. The ones I bought yesterday are really nice. Not cheap though ($150).

I continue reading Masha Gessen. Very good read. Gives a lot of insight in the life for Russians and Jews during WW2 and Stalin.

13. The Marsha Gressen book
sounds fascinating. I just wish I'd have more time to read, although I think I read more than your average person. There are so many books I'd like to read and just don't seem to have the time.

Oh, too bad about your window - yuk - an unexpected expense. I just bought a new refrigerator. Mine was old and not too energy efficient. On my list of things to buy in the future is a new stove, another big expense. But my most recent unexpected expenses, getting my computer fixed and shortly I've got to fix a dent in my car. Some idiot must have hit their car door into mine and never owned up to it. I've got two estimates right now, one is for $700 (gasp) and the other is for $525. That seems like a lot of money over a small dent. I'm still steaming over that.

14. It is a very good read
at least it sucks me in. I read some last night before turning off the light. Big mistake. I had to drag myself away from the book and turned off the light way too late.

It really sucks with the window. It made problems from the beginning. But I was hoping not to spend that kind of money already. Oh well, the price for owing instead of renting.

Ugh ... that is quite some money for the car. And what an asshole to drive away after hitting your car.

21. Although a pain to
replace your window, now you can choose something that is more energy efficient, so in the long run, the replacement may help you on your heating/cooling costs.

Yes, I'm upset about my car. It happened in my work parking lot too. We all have parking stickers on our cars, so that person easily could have found out who I was.

Gotta head out for work, so wishing you a great rest of the day.

6. Good Morning MissHoneychurch!
That falcon is beautiful! I have no problem seeing animals eat. Only the human ones :P

Nice shoes, too. I only buy hemp shoes, but that's just me. I do need a new pair though...

That's good to hear about the creepy guy's chances of remaining there. And maybe you can find a bargain on the window. Will you be replacing it yourself, too?

I'm up late still complaining about living next to railroad tracks, so I'm trying to get tired enough to sleep. Eventually, I'll turn this habit around for good! ;)

Temps are mild here. I'm in shorts, a t-shirt and barefoot at the moment, listening to Bill Nelson (of Be Bop Deluxe)

11. Good morning kentauros
:hi:  :loveya:

I love heels. I know it isn't really good for my feet but I barely walk in flat shoes. I do walk around barefoot at home though.

The janitor is going to put names of companies in my mailbox, that way I can call them and ask them what their prices are. Those are companies that already did windows in other condos at the property (3 big houses). I will need to replace the windowframe as well, so I let the company do it. Darn, it isn't really money I have. But it needs to be done. I hate to get to a cold bathroom in the mornings.

Living next to a railroad .... rather loud I'd say. But I once met someone who would have loved living next to one. In my old apartment I lived near a hospital. The sirens were enough for me. I am happy I am not near one anymore.

15. It's good you're getting some help with the window.
A working window is important for your health, too. When it gets really cold, much of your precious heat will be flying out that window ;)

Yeah, the railroad does get loud. Still, there are many here (at DU) that love it. I can kind of relate to the ambulance sirens, too, as my neighborhood is a "graying" one. I'm hearing another train rumbling through, even over my headphones. The low-frequency noise really gets to me, changing my mood, but it's all highly annoying.

I hope your day gets progressively better. Here's some German polka to pep things up there :7

But I also told her about the loud music on Saturday and the smoking in the hall. He is already getting a letter about Saturday.

Why is she changing the question all the time????

Hmmm, well I was sipping my coffee and thinking about what to have for breakfast, opened up your thread to see what nice pic was there and now...welll, I'll just have another cup of coffee. Not really that hungry anyway.

I had a feeling about the Creep, remember? that the janitor would know about him already. I hope you do follow through and make a very strongly worded complaint. Yes, renters have rights...but so do WOMEN. The right not to be accosted in your own building or even on the street for that matter. Keep us posted on that.

It is fun to buy new shoes!

29. Good afternoon, MissHoneychurch
I remember back in college when I was walking by a tree on campus, and almost got hit in the head by a swooping pigeon...I looked down and saw the pigeon had dropped dead out of the tree for some strange reason...I then take a closer look at the pigeon's body and see it is missing it's head!

And of course, I look up in the tree, and a hawk has the pigeon's head and neck in its beak...true story...
